The Greek temple is considered a foundation of Western architecture and a perfect expression of balanced dimensions, mathematical relationships and harmonious geometry. Subtle refinements made these buildings appear both flawless and alive: the stylobate was gently curved, while the columns were given a slight swelling known as entasis. Doric, Ionic and Corinthian capitals, together with fluted columns, define the celebrated classical orders. This work offers a free interpretation of these architectural elements, playfully exploring perspective, proportion and construction.
