Hirtenleben

In the shade of a great old tree, a beautiful shepherdess dances to the music of a shepherd playing his flute. Another shepherd watches her admiringly. Admittedly, it is an idealised scene – yet therein lies its special charm: an enchanting moment of pastoral harmony and carefree innocence.
